Spears

	*‘The Amazon Spear’* This style spear was used all through the Xena series, it is made of closed cell foam with a wooden shaft. It has leather wrapped around it where the blade attaches and decorated with feathers and horse hair.





	*‘Artemis’ High Guard’s Spear’* This type of double ended spear was used in season 5, episode ‘Eternal Bonds’ by Artemis’ Guards. It is made of resin with a center bar running inside end to end to make it sturdy. It has a handle area, leather wrapped midway of the spear and has brass colored resin decoration on each side of the handle to make it look very godly.

‘Harpoon’

This is a wonderfully made harpoon and is the style used in season 3, episode ‘Tsunami’. It is made of resin with a metal rod in the center for support. It is made quite heavy and very realistic, it also has a grass rope tied at the end. It is painted brown on the handle so it appears as wood and the rest is painted silver with gray so it appears to be metal

‘The Roman Spear’

This is the style used throughout the Xena series, the screen caps I have added for viewing are from season 6 episode, ‘When the Fates Collide’. It is made with a wooden handle with a hard resin spear head and has a gold resin band where it attaches to the wood with a nice roman design. Quite a neat item from the show and looks very real.

‘Amazon Spear’

This spear was used by the young Amazons in the series ‘Young Hercules’ episode ‘Amazon Grace’, it is made with a wood handle and a hard resin spear head. It has a resin snake wrapped around where the spear head meets the wood and also has a cracked or leaf vein pattern on the blade itself. It has lamb skin wrapped with leather about half way down on the wood pole.




		*‘Ares’ Army Spear’* This spear is the same style used in many episodes by Ares’ army/warriors. The screen caps I have for viewing are from season 6, ‘episode ‘Coming Home’. It is made of hard wood with a hard resin spearhead, it has twine, leather and metal studs on the wood where the spearhead attaches. It is very well made, very heavy and has a very real appearance.
