The Amazons

’The Amazon Queen Varia’

Used in XWP season 6 episodes such as “Coming Home”, “Path of Vengeance” and others. It is very well made out of leather with lots of bone and shell beads. It has a braided leather headband, a leather and antler beaded top with leather fringe, a deerskin shoulder guard, a queen’s necklace, a leather, horse hair and bone belt, leather skirt with leather/material panties, a set of boots, a pair of deerskin wrist wraps, a bone arm band, a beaded leather leg band and deer skin boot toppers. It also came with the costumers tags and hanger

The Queen Varia robe was used in season 6 episode “To Helicon and Back”. It has a thick material base with feathers mixed in and a large feather collar, it is trimmed out all the way around with lots of leather fringe.


	‘*Asian Amazon Queen’*

		This Asian Amazon Queen outfit was used in season 6, episode ‘Path of Vengeance’, it is labeled on all pieces 'Asian Queen','Katherine, Rachael', 'Xena ep 15' and is complete down to the costumer tags and material hanger. It consists of a pair of leather sandals, a wrap around long material skirt, a long material 2 panel over skirt with the same design, a wonderful shell and golden ribbon belt, a material bikini type material top sewn over a padded bra with a sewn on material short shoulder shawl, a shell cross over shell necklace with a large shell diamond pattern in the center front and back, a pair of material/large beaded/shell bracelets, a pair of material/shell armbands, a neat little large beaded /shell/ material choker necklace, a wonderful material/shell/golden ribbon/beaded headband and last but not least a queen's necklace made of paua shell


	*‘Artemis’ High Amazon Guard’* This outfit was used in season 5 episode “Eternal Bonds”. It consists of a leather/beaten copper head piece, a leather/beaten copper lace up top, a pair of leather/beaten copper gauntlets, a leather/ beaten copper belt, a leather wrap around skirt, leather/material panties, a padded pair of leather knee pads, leather and brass ring bandoler and a pair of leather boots.


			*‘The Amazon Warrior Mask’*

		Amazon masks were worn by the Amazon Women in several episodes and several seasons of Xena such as ‘Hooves and Harlots, ‘The Quest , etc.. The screen cap (bottom Center on Ephiny’s side) I have that appears to match this mask is in the episode ‘The Quest’ of season 2. This mask is very well made and is made with a closed cell foam, with a light resin coating and then painted. It has lots of feathers and long black raffia on the top and back. It is labeled ‘Anoushka Reddy’ with a costumers label on the inside. It has a thick elastic band for securing it to your head which makes it very comfortable to wear.


		‘Chalapa Amazon Mask’


		The Chalapa Amazon mask is made just like the rest with long raffia down the back with a long leather flap underneath and the mask part is made of closed cell foam with a light resin coating and painted with lots of feathers added. This one does have the headpiece attachment inside so it can swivel up or down and worn either way. This one is labeled 'Chilapa' and was used in the episode 'The Endgame', Chilapa became queen at the end of that episode by Gabby giving her right of cast for that tribe...it is also labeled 'Lisa and 'Amarice' but there is no recollection of Amarice ever wearing a mask, she always wore her signature hat. The screencap for viewing shows Chalapa on the left side of Ephiny with Amarice on the right.

‘Island Amazon Warrior’

This near complete island amazon oufit is very interesting and is labeled ‘Melosa’ which is most likely actress and not character. It was used in the Xena episode “Path of Vengeance” when all the tribes came together as one. It was used in the background fight scenes when they were attacking the romans at the early part of the episode. This outfit has many pieces, it has three heavy beaded necklaces, one armband with shells, leather and rafia, a shell beaded bracelet, the top is made of leather and some type of natural material l;ayered and padded with hand painted designs, it has a leather wrap around skirt , a natural material hand painted over skirt, a wrap around rafia skirt, it has set of fiber(dyed palm leaves maybe) woven greaves, it has a material scarf or wrap that is knotted and sewn so it doesn’t untie, it also has a burlap and leather belt with a set of small feathers in the middle. I am missing the sandals, an armband and a wrist bracelet that would complete the outfit. The shoulder piece is actually used as a overskirt on the side in the episode then the way I have it used on the mannequin.


	*‘The Greek Amazon Warriors’* Amazon warriors were constant characters all through Xena and Hercules starting early in the Hercules movies. This is Amazon outfit #5 and consists of a pair of brown leather Amazon boots, a pair of leather braided boot toppers with tassels and metal medallions, a leather wrap around thigh band, a pair of leather and material Amazon under panties, a thick leather fringe wrap around skirt, a light-weight leather over skirt(front and back panels with dark leather fringe), a thick leather/possum fur/braided grass rope/metal belt, a leather lace up top with fringe on the right shoulder(it laces up on both sides and in front), a pair of thick leather wrap around gauntlets, a pair of wood beaded armbands a multi-strand wooden necklace, a leather/beaded/feather collar with a large medallion in the middle with the same design as on Queen Varia's belt, a pair of wooden beaded earrings, a leather headband with a feather grouping on one side that is made to slide around to either side or to the back


		Here is Amazon outfit #6 in my collection. The outfit consists of a leather top with a metal spiral on one breast and has lots of leather fringe and feathers to trim it out, it is labeled 'Solari LookLike' and was used in the Episode Season 2 'The Quest', 'A Necessary Evil' and very briefly in season 4 ‘The Endgame’. A pair of upper arm armor that is made of thick leather with resin spikes and metal trim, this upper arm armor was used by the amazons in the episode 'The Endgame' as well. It has a very well made belt made with thick leather, metal adornments and feathers to trim it out, it is not labeled but I did spot it in ‘A Necessary Evil’ worn by an Amazon warrior on the right side of Gabrielle at the altar when she was given the queens mask. The over skirt is made of thick soft leather with braids and feathers, it is labeled 'Solari LookLike' which was used in the episodes with the top. It also has a leather wrap around skirt underneath the overskirt which may have been a main character also since they used velcro to attach it together along with the leather ties. The boots are normal Amazon leather boots and are labeled 'Varia', it has a leather archers gauntlet with lots of trim and a glove part on the hand and a small short gauntlet on the other wrist, it has a pair of the leather and material panties underneath the skirt and I added a bone carved Maori mask necklace to finish it out. The below screencaps are from a ‘A Necessary Evil’ with the character ‘Solari.




	Here is Amazon outfit #7 in my collection....she has a leather braided amazon headband with a feather hair piece, she has a bone carved Maori tiki style necklace with paua shell eyes, she has a leather fringe amazon bra top that ties in the back very much like the Varia outfit above, she has a set of braided leather upper armbands, she has a thick leather and possum fur bandolier, she has a pair of possum fur wrapped wrist guards, she has a leather petal skirt with a pair of leather/material panties underneath, she has a very neat belt that I put together from some assorted amazon pieces I had; made of leather, amazon beads and a copper spiral and then last but not least she has a pair of leather amazon warrior boots.


	This is Amazon outfit #8, this outfit has a leather headband with a feather and raffia dangling hair piece, it has a leather fringe sash or bandoleer, it has a leather and feather upper arm band and a pair of wrap around leather wrist wraps, the top is made of leather around a material bra with a feathered shoulder piece and has a braided or weaved leather design on front and back; it laces up on each side, it has a leather and material over skirt that is done the same weaved pattern in front and back, it has leather wrap around underskirt like used in all the amazon outfits, it has a beaded and what appears to be coconut disc belt, it has a pair of leather and material panties, ...I do not have boots for her at this time but I do have a pair of fur boot toppers.

This is Amazon outfit #9 and the last of the Hollywood tribe; I think. This outfit is quite well made ...starting with a leather braided anklet, a leather and studded leg band , a wrap around leather Amazon skirt, a pair of material and leather Amazon panties, a coconut shell and beaded belt, a pair of fur wrap around wrist guards(maybe fox), a leather studded arm band, a raffia/leather and beaded shoulder/arm piece, a tiger striped bra style top with lots of leather and beaten copper and a pair of wooden beaded amazon earrings. I have a wooden beaded necklace added to this outfit not pictured , but I would like to locate a pair of Amazon boots to finish it off...so if you have some to sell or trade please email me.
